Coming soon to your inbox: Corporate logos. Apple is turning its devices into more of a marketing platform for businesses and letting companies show you their branding in both emails and calls.

In future, companies will also be able to create their own profiles, allowing their logos to appear prominently in the in-house Mail app and calls on Apple devices.

Larger companies like Disney and American Airlines, as well as smaller local shops can then appear in your inbox where the contact portrait might appear, Apple gives as examples.

Apple says seeing a company logo when being contacted will help the user "distinguish verified businesses from spam callers and other unwanted outreach."

In the coming year, companies with a business profile will also be able to have their company name automatically displayed when they call their customers.

Apple verifies the information with the help of software and auditors. The iPhone maker has more than one billion devices in the hands of its customers.

This makes it an important platform for companies to reach their customers. Apple is also competing with Google and the Facebook group Meta, which want to offer small and medium-sized companies an interface to consumers.

Apple introduced its Business Connect service last year, initially allowing enabling companies with brick-and-mortar shops to create index cards with photos and information such as opening hours, primarily for display in Apple's Maps app.
