US President Joe Biden arrives in Berlin for brief visit

US President Joe Biden's government aircraft, Air Force One, landed in Berlin late on Thursday evening for his brief official trip to Germany.

Biden is scheduled to meet German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday.

The 81-year-old was originally supposed to travel to Berlin a week earlier, but he cancelled the trip at short notice due to a major hurricane approaching the south-east coast of the United States at the time.

Biden is now making up for his visit in a scaled-down form, with a short working visit instead of a full state visit.
