VfB Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle sees no signs that coach Sebastian Hoeness will leave last season's Bundesliga runners-up prematurely.

“He has made it quite clear that he wants to build something here. He appreciates the environment - together we are a good team. He knows what he has in us. We know what we have in him,” Wehrle told the Doppelpass sports show on Sunday.

Hoeness has a contract with Stuttgart until 2027 and his deal includes a release clause, but Wehrle didn't want to make comments on that matter.

"The release clause is a release clause, if there is one. I stick to contracts and the word 'silence' is in there," he said.

There were recently rumours that Manchester United would be interested in signing the coach, but Wehrle dismissed the speculation.

"Not a single time have I spoken to Sebastian Hoeness about any other club. No club has contacted us. And Sebastian hasn't spoken to me about other club. This was only brought to us from the outside," the CEO said.

Hoeness saved Stuttgart from relegation in the 2022-23 season and in the last term led them to a Champions League qualification.

This season, however, has been shaky so far. Ahead of the Champions League clash against Juventus on Tuesday, Stuttgart were defeated 4-0 by Bayern Munich. In the Bundesliga, they sit ninth.
