Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic has undergone surgery on a broken collarbone, the Bundesliga leaders said on Sunday.

Pavlovic suffered the injury when he fell on his right shoulder five minutes into Saturday's 4-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart and was replaced by João Palhinha.

Bayern said late Saturday that he will be sidelined for "the next few weeks" and then followed up by saying on X that he "underwent a successful operation on Sunday morning."

Pavlovic said on X: "Thank you for your kind messages. Surgery went well. Now I give everything to get back on the pitch as soon as possible. I will come back stronger."

Pavolic, 20, is a regular starter and the injury comes at the start of a busy spell for Bayern with seven matches in three weeks, including a Champions League date at Barcelona on Wednesday.

“The loss is bitter. Pavlovic was one of our best players at the moment. Now, unfortunately, we have to do it without him,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said.

Pavlovic is the second sidelined Germany player for Bayern as Jamal Musiala is also yet to return from a hip problem.

Pavlovic is also set to miss Germany's final two Nations League group games in November against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Hungary.
