Serendipitous inspiration can be found anywhere and anytime. Today I found it in an unlisted YouTube video watched by a few people.

I am inspired to write this post after watching an unlisted video on YouTube, which is still accessible publicly. I was one of the first ones who liked the video, but it is unlisted now and does not get visibility for some reasons. It doesn’t matter. It is not my point.

My point is to inform my readers from the US to show technological possibilities in market.

As a technology and cognitive science enthusiast, my purpose is not to promote this company or their products. I have no association. Instead, my purpose is to reflect inspiration gleaned from the mentioned video by The Neurable Enten headphones and inform my readers on technological breakthroughs and developments.

I use this headphone as an example to reflect the desires of busy professionals like me who want to stay motivated and become productive based on their mood fluctuations.

In my personal and professional life, I always watch for my up and downtimes. I closely observe my mood swings. This awareness allows me to do complex tasks at active times and easy tasks in our downtimes.

Uptimes and downtimes relate to our emotions and mood. When we are in a good mood and experience uplifting emotions, we produce better. When we are in a low mood and feel tired and pessimistic, we naturally procrastinate.

Reading brain waves is an emerging technology. Many established and start-up companies are using this technology to create new consumer products. Electroencephalography readings are one of the goals these companies have to manufacture and integrate into their headphones.

I have been following virtual game products for almost a decade. My son, who is an online game enthusiast, introduced them to me, such as the one in this video. Since then, these products have made substantial progress, and they become part of the online gaming community.

Gaming is only a single use case of smart headphones.

There are many valuable use cases that smart headphones can provide.

One of the most compelling ones is to monitor, control, and cancel noise. Noise is a distractor to productivity. When noise is cancelled, our focus and attention can increase.

Smart headphones’ more exciting and desired function is to recognize the brain’s essential focus and non-focus patterns. If these products can develop such functionality, they can make a tremendous impact on our lives.

Wearing sensors also becomes a reality thanks to IoT (Internet of Things) technology. Sensors are capable of collecting data in the form of signals from the body and brain. Reading brain waves is particularly interesting to monitor our thoughts and manage our emotions.

What I understand from an Indiegogo project site campaigned by Neurable Inc. in Boston, United States is that “Enten by Neurable uses brainwave sensors to measure your focus and work habits, so you work smarter, not longer, and avoid burnout”. They implemented sensors in the ear cups. These sensors can measure brainwaves when we listen to music to concentrate on a creative task.

This exciting product featured in The New York Times, Forbes, and other popular media publications will be shipped to the public in May 2022. The Indiegogo site has a helpful faq (frequently asked questions) about this product, such as safety of EEG and data.

According to Healthline an electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain. Brain cells communicate with each other through electrical impulses. An EEG device can be used to help detect potential problems associated with this activity.

EEG technology is real and used in medical science and healthcare for addressing critical health issues such as head injuries, brain tumors, dementia, stroke, and sleep disorders.

Using technology to improve our health, motivation, and productivity is real now.

Technology can extend our capabilities and help us see inside of our brain.

Many options are popping up and are on the horizon.

Why not take benefits? I cannot see reasons apart from inhibitive cost.

Like many smart people, most of us keep an open mind to leverage technology for motivation and productivity. Life is short and require smart investments for success and happiness.

Thank you for reading my perspectives.
