Most charming beach towns and beaches in California: Part 2

California has so many beautiful beaches that it's not possible to name a few in only one blog post. If you haven’t checked out my previous blog post, you can check it out here (insert link here). In this blog, I am going to write about few more beaches in California. I am sure that may not be enough, and I may end up writing part 3 or 4. But for now, let’s explore some of the beautiful beaches with some spectacular features.

Victoria beach
This beach is one of my favorite beaches not only because of the spectacular view, but also the existence of a pirate tower on the beach. Not only that but also this is one of Laguna’s most famous beaches. The iconic Pirate tower and the circular man-made pool are the two most amazing features of this beach. The main problem with this beach is parking. There is no designated parking area, and you have to park in a neighborhood. Park wherever you get a good spot (non-tow zone) and then follow Victoria Drive until you reach the steps. Once you are at the bottom of the step- here you are! Welcome to one of the city’s most well-kept secrets. You can surf, swim and snorkel here, but of course at your own risk. Or you can simply enjoy the view. The famous mysterious landmark, the 60-foot castle-inspired tower is known as the ‘La Tour’ which is the French word for tower. It was built at the same time when the adjoint house was built at the top in 1926. This was used as a passage to get from the house to the beach. I know, no fancy story, no pirate, no princess, or anything. Still, this tower is one of the most beautiful castle-like towers on the pacific shore.

Among all the beaches I have visited, I have found this beach was the most crowded one. This beach is one of the beaches of Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach. This beach is closest to Malibu and there is a parking lot adjoint to the beach. As this one is popular, it is really hard to get a parking lot. You may have to wait and go for rounds to secure a parking spot. The entrance to the beach is interesting. You have to descend through eroding formations on the face of the buffs along with some stairs at the end to reach the beach. There are a lot of beautiful formations, sea stacks on the beach which makes it perfect for weddings, engagement, and model photoshoots. Even on a weekday, we found a lot of couples doing their photoshoot on the beach. If you walk toward the north, you will find a lot of caves and arches in the rock. You will find the largest cave at the bottom of a huge flat rock that is connected to the base of the bluff. If you want to explore the caves, please make sure the visit at low tide. Sunset here is an amazing sight to see. Overall, this beach is very beautiful, and I think you should include this in your list of beaches to visit.

Goat rock beach
I like this beach because of its serenity and the location. This beach is located in northwestern Sonoma County between Goat Rock Point and the Russian River. There are two parking lots for this beach, and both are accessible by Goat Rock Road. The first one is at the north end of Goat Rock Road which has easy access to the sand spit at the mouth of the Russian River. Another one is right below the Goat Rock. This beach is a picturesque beach with scenic rocky cliffs and rugged shorelines. This part of the ocean is home to sea animals like harbor seals and migrating whales. As this part of the ocean can be very dangerous, so swimming is not recommended here.

Pfeiffer beach
Located in Big Sur, this beach is famous for its iconic Keyhole arch and purple sands. From the parking area, the walk to the beach is very short. The massive keyhole rock is quite a sight specifically during sunrise and sunset. If you go during the winter months especially during the last part of December or early January, you will be able to see incredible lights coming out of the hole. The manganese garnet rocks in the cliffs are specifically responsible for the unique purple sand. At the north end, you will be able to see tide pools during low tide. Shark Tooth beach
Shark tooth beach or Shark fin cove is one most beautiful beaches in Northern California. Located in the south of Davenport, this beach is easily accessible, and you can recognize it immediately from the fin-like rock formations. If you head south on Hwy 1 from Davenport, you have to drive one mile before you find the turnout of the beach on the right. You can park your vehicle in the dirt, there is no sign though. From there you have to take the path away from the road and down to the train tracks. Head right to find an overlook that will give a panoramic view of the cove and beach. If you want to go to the beach, head left and descend a little steep path to reach the beach. Do not forget to check the tide chart before you head towards this wonderful beach.
