Teenager dead following York motorcycle crash, police say
YORK, Maine — A 17-year-old has died after the motorcycle they were operating crashed along Maine State Route 91 in York. The York Police Department said that at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, the town's Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call about the crash on Cider Hill Road, which is part of Route 91.
Maine teen found not guilty of planning mass shooting at South Portland High School
A 17-year-old boy was found not guilty of plotting a mass shooting at South Portland High School, according to the Press Herald. The teen was charged with criminal solicitation for murder and arson. He was accused of making threats and trying to recruit another person to commit mass murder at South Portland High School last spring.

The scent of fruitwood barbeque emanates from the Grape Arbor, where the tents and tables welcome guests with cooling beverages and home-cooked pulled pork, turkey, cornbread, cowboy beans, tempting desserts, and more. Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for youth 6-12. Little kids are free. Grace O’Brien will have tickets available at the gate. This will happen rain or shine, and takeouts are available. At 6 p.m., the firepit will be lit and folks can gather around it to hear Anthony Semenovich play his guitar and sing.

D’Auteuil returns to assistant city manager post in Auburn
Denis D’Auteuil is returning to his position as Auburn’s assistant city manager. The city council unanimously confirmed D’Auteuil’s appointment July 15. “Denis’ depth of knowledge, connection to our team, dedication to public service, and long history of involvement with the cities of Auburn and Lewiston make him exactly the right fit for this position,” City Manager Phil Crowell said in a news release. “He has a powerful connection to his community - he’s a coach, a volunteer, a dad, brother and son, and he’s a friend to so many here.”
