Buncombe County -- July 22, 2024: On July 17th, the Buncombe County Commissioners made a contentious decision to shut down. French Broad Outfitters' (FBO) Hominy Creek location, a popular river bar and recreation space that has become a beloved community spot since it began leasing the outpost along Asheville’s French Broad River in 2018. A missing Gaston County woman was found alive beside the South Fork River with no memory of what happened to her, according to her family.
