The landscape of Austin's Cherrywood neighborhood will soon be enhanced by the familiar flavors of cheese and freshly baked bread. Spread & Co., known for its artisanal cheese boards and local café charm, announced the opening of its new location at 2406 Manor Road, Suite B. This spot, once home to Lola's Donuts, will now serve as a hub for cheese aficionados and casual coffee-goers starting in early fall. The Eater Austin reports that in addition to the usual fare of sandwiches, pastries, and salads, the new Spread & Co. will expand its offerings to include a sophisticated selection of wines, aperitifs, nonalcoholic drinks, and beer. Eater Austin indicates this move comes after a temporary closure of their original location.

Owner of Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse to Acquire Chuy’s
Darden Restaurants, Inc. and Chuy’s Holdings, Inc. jointly announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement where Darden will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Chuy’s for $37.50 per share, in an all-cash transaction with an enterprise value of approximately $605 million. Chuy’s will complement Darden’s portfolio of iconic brands, which currently includes Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s and Bahama Breeze.

Cancer testing company to pay $900K to settle Stark Law violation allegations
Palo Alto, Calif.-based oncology company Guardant Health will pay $913,933 to settle allegations it violated Stark Law. The Justice Department alleged that Guardant submitted claims and received payments from Medicare for laboratory services that had been referred in violation of Stark Law. Guardant also allegedly knowingly submitted or caused the submission of false claims for payments.
