DRIPPING SPRINGS – Rambo Masonic Lodge No. 426 invites the community to attend and witness a historic Cornerstone Ceremony in commemoration of the North Hays County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 1’s new EMS Medic 75 and Medic 74 buildings. The event will be held on at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 at the EMS Medic 75 location at 31331 Ranch Road 12 in Dripping Springs.   North Hays County ESD No. 1 is the emergency medical services provider for the northern portion of Hays County, including Dripping Springs, Driftwood and Henly, with a service area covering approximately 244 square miles. According to a news release, the two new locations will improve response times, help to preserve human life, allow emergency medical technicians and paramedics to provide the critical and timely care needed and, if necessary, transport patients to medical facilities.
The laying of the cornerstone and the ceremony is an enduring American ritual beginning with Benjamin Franklin who, while Grand Master of Pennsylvania, established the tradition beginning with the cornerstone laying of the state house in Philadelphia. Perhaps the most famous of all was when George Washington, also a Mason, in 1793 laid the cornerstone for the U.S. Capitol Building. Today, Freemasons around the country carry on the tradition that their forefathers began centuries ago.   Rambo Masonic Lodge No. 426 hopes community members are able to attend this historic event honoring the collective efforts of leaders and the community, who have contributed to making this project a reality.
