Truck dropping flaming hay bales through Duenweg

DUENWEG, Mo. (KOAM) — About 5:30 p.m. Wednesday a truck and trailer hauling round bales began dropping flaming hay bales in Duenweg, blocking 7th and Prigmore.

Truck continued west through town dropping flaming bales.

Finally came to a stop near Post Office as the truck, trailer and more bales burn.

No injuries.

Joplin Fire Dept responded to assist with a brush truck, Duenweg Public Works rushed to get heavy equipment out to break up the bales so the fire dept could put the fires out.

Duenweg Fire Chief Gary Davis tells KOAM’s Shannon Becker they are investigating however initial information shows the trailer was dragging chains.
