Homecoming for Hootie and The Blowfish As They Return For Two Local Concerts in August
Hootie and the Blowfish will be returning to the area with two local concerts in August. The first will be in Columbia, MD at Merriweather Post Pavilion on August 3rd followed by a show in Bristol, VA at Jiffy Lube Live on August 17th. This is somewhat of a homecoming as half of the band, Mark Bryan and Dean Felber, are graduates of Seneca Valley High School in Germantown.
Boone little league ends its season
The Daniel Boone Little League Softball 10-12-year-old team finished third in the state tournament on Monday, July 8 in Erwin, but the ending was hard to stomach. The Blazers, which lost 6-1 to Smith County in the losers’ bracket final, needed to rest ace Jayden Jenkins in that one. Artist, philanthropist P. Buckley Moss dies; legacy lives on through art, education
The art world is in mourning after learning today that P. Buckley Moss died on Saturday after a short illness. She was 91. Born on May 20, 1933, Patricia Moss discovered her passion for art at a young age. Moss was dyslexic. She discovered her artistic potential and enrolled in a high school for the fine arts, and later, graduated from New York’s Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
