Dogs Allowed Back Onto Norton Point
Man’s best friend will be allowed back on Norton Point this summer. The Dukes County Commission Wednesday approved Edgartown’s request to allow dogs on parts of the beach free of shorebirds as long as they are on a leash or lead. The decision is a reversal of the county’s previous policy and will serve as a test to see if dog owners can safely recreate on Norton Point without flustering any of the area’s protected shorebirds.

Buzzards Bay Man Indicted in Alleged West Tisbury Stabbing
A Dukes County grand jury last week indicted a Cape Cod man for charges connected to an alleged stabbing in West Tisbury. Joseph Feliciano, 26, of Buzzards Bay, was indicted June 26 on charges of assault to murder, mayhem, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on an ambulance worker.
