The following is a recap of local events for this time period throughout history. Tweeti Blancett is in Washington D.C. today, meeting President and Mrs. Reagan and a host of top officials in the Republican Party. She is one of 100 Republican women across the country invited to the event hosted in part by the Republican National Committee. Tweeti isn’t sure how she was selected, but the White House social secretary, to whom she posed the question, said the women attending are all candidates for office or hold some political office and most are from the western states. Tweeti is seeking the district three seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives. It is currently held by Jim Young.
