4-star OL Damola Ajidahun has Georgia high as decision nears

Duluth (Ga.) four-star offensive lineman Damola Ajidahun is nearly done with the recruiting process. The No. 84 overall prospect in the 2025 On3 Rankings has not set a commitment date yet but he’s ready to focus on his upcoming high school season.

Ajidahun could make his way to Georgia and a few other places in the coming weeks before making a decision on his future home.

“I might shut it down a bit and commit in August,” Ajidahun said. “Right now, I’m just talking with people and seeing how they roll during their fall camp and how things operate.”

Georgia is right in the thick of things for Ajidahun. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Georgia as the runaway leader for Ajidahun at the moment.

The Bulldogs have a 96.7 percent chance of landing the four-star offensive tackle. Ajidahun was in Athens for an official visit back on June 14.

Georgia still pushing for Damola Ajidahun

The Bulldogs made a major impression that weekend. Since that visit, Georgia’s coaching staff has been in regular communication with Ajidahun.

“It’s really like every two or three days they’re just checking up on me and seeing how I am,” Ajidahun said.

For Ajidahun, relationships will be a key to the last phase of his recruitment. He feels the bonds between coaches and players will be a key to development long term.

“It’s important to have a good relationship with the coaches because when a coach cares about you outside of football, it brings more energy,” Ajidahun said. “Let’s say after practice you’re looking for something to do, your coach can invite you over to his house and you can chill out. Building a bond outside of football makes you stronger than family in some cases. I feel like a bond is really important.”

Hanging out with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart during his visit in June was an eye-opening experience for Ajidahun. Smart showcased his personality and connected with the four-star offensive lineman.

“When I walked in, he tried to pronounce my name, most people don’t even try to, so that just shows what kind of guy he is,” Ajidahun said. “He’s a great person, a great coach and he takes his time to get to know players and get to know what they’re going through. I feel like when I walked in his room, he had so many things going for him. I saw all the rings, he played at Georgia. Coach Kirby is a great guy. He is a really charismatic guy.”
