Fatal August 25th car accident leaves one dead
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Around 5:14 p.m. on August 25, 2024, the North Little Rock Police Department responded to the area of 10000 Crystal Hill Road about a fatality accident. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two occupied vehicles involved in the accident. 63-year-old James Burgess of Conway was in one car, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Operation Bright” Fights Human Trafficking in Little Rock
Human trafficking is a real problem in Arkansas and across the country, but efforts are being made to stop it. Recently, sixteen adults who were believed to be victims of human trafficking were offered services and support. Additionally, 79 other local victims were identified as part of Operation BRIGHT (Bringing Rescue and Intervention to Give Hope and Triumph). This operation happened earlier this month in Little Rock, and a suspected trafficker was also identified.
Seattle Times: DNA on cigarette helped authorities capture Clinton man
The Seattle Times posted an in-depth report Monday on the investigation of a 1980 murder that led to the recent arrest of a man from Clinton, Ark. Kenneth Kundert (pictured), 65, was arrested Aug. 20, 2024, for the murder of Dorothy Silzel, who was killed in Kent, Wash., more than 44 years ago. Kundert’s bail was set at $3 million. He was charged the same day in King County Superior Court in Washington state for premeditated first-degree murder in connection with the killing.
El Dorado woman dies in Dallas County wreck
A wreck on Arkansas 9 in Dallas County about 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2024 took the life of Kayden M. Parker, 26, of El Dorado. According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Parker was driving a 2007 model Chevrolet Colorado south on the highway when it exited the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Arkansas likely to be without offensive lineman Patrick Kutas Thursday
During Monday’s press conference, Sam Pittman broke the news that Arkansas will likely be down an offensive lineman on Thursday for the game against UAPB. Projected starter Patrick Kutas has been dealing with a back injury for most of fall camp. In the meantime, E’Marion Harris has taken over at left guard. "I don’t believe Patrick will play," Pittman said. "I’ll say this too, and we’ll miss him because he’s a good player. That back is still bothering him."
