    Prince William County police looking for suspect who allegedly ran over man in his car, killing him

    DUMFRIES, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said it was looking for a man who was involved in a felony hit-and-run incident that killed a man.

    The incident happened on July 20 just before 7 p.m. at the parking lot of the Oasis at Montclair Apartment complex, located in the 16400 block of Stedham Circle in Dumfries.

    While investigating the hit-and-run, officers found out that a stranger approached 37-year-old Jose Galvin while he was outside of his car.

    During their exchange, the suspect got into Galvin’s car and started driving it in reverse.

    The man grabbed onto his car while the suspect was still going and then the car hit a separate unoccupied car. The suspect then started driving the car forward, throwing Galvin. The suspect then allegedly ran over him.

    The suspect drove the stolen car out of the area before police showed up at the scene.

    Galvin was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died on July 22.

    The car was described as a 1999 gold Lexus RX 300 with a Virginia license plate: TUW8710. The car has damage to its rear left bumper area, taillight assembly and more, possibly on the rear left rim. There are also two “baby on board” stickers on the car’s rear.

    Anyone with information was asked to call police.
