A car crash sent one person to the hospital with critical injuries early Saturday morning. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Hwy 275 near Ida Street in Valley, Nebraska. Medics from the Omaha Fire Department rushed the injured person to the hospital just before 4:00 a.m.

Nebraska to host five-star athlete next week
The top athlete in the class of 2025 will visit Nebraska next week. Michael Terry III is a five-star recruit for Alamo Heights High School out of San Antonio, Texas. As a junior, he earned district MVP honors by rushing for 995 yards and 20 touchdowns and receiving 564 yards and ten touchdowns. He is scheduled to visit the Lincoln campus on Tuesday and Wednesday. Terry recently spoke with Phillip Dukes of the On3 network about his last visit to Nebraska and the impression it left on him. It’s like a big family over there. When I went on my OV (official visit), they welcomed me with open arms. Just the culture around them and my family had fun out there. I got to spend time with the players and really got to see how it is out there. Terry is being recruited as a wide receiver, running back, and defensive back. He is ranked as the No. 1 athlete in the 2025 recruiting class. Portion Of 84th Street To Close July 29
LINCOLN–(KFOR July 27) Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) this week today announced that 84th Street from “O” to Van Dorn streets will be closed beginning Monday, July 29 as a part of a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project. The intersection of 84th and “A” streets will also be closed to through traffic on “A” Street. Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. The intersection work is scheduled to be completed by August 9.
