Bikers for Barkers returns, humane society ‘very appreciative’

DUNCANSVILLE, Pa. (WTAJ) – Bikers for Barkers returned for its 23rd annual event, bringing riders from all walks of life together to support the Central PA Humane Society.

The goal of the event is to raise money for the humane society, and this year, they said they need it more than ever.

“We’ve been running really, really low on food and supplies lately, so that’ll be really, really beneficial,” Kristina Daversa, volunteer coordinator at the humane society, said.

Bikers come together to drive a roughly 100-mile round trip in support of the humane society. It is not a short trip, but Daversa says “it’s really very, very scenic.”

An event like this is not easy to get off the ground, and Daversa says they are “very appreciative” of everyone’s continued support.

“I get emotional when the bikes pull out,” Daversa said.
