The Dundalk High School Class of ‘62, a nonprofit fund established in 2003 to support outstanding graduating DHS seniors awarded $40,000 in scholarships during the DHS Awards Ceremony on June 6.

Myana Garrison was awarded $10,000, while Gurvansh Singh, Jasmin Trentler, Harveer Dhinsa, Brandy Dennison, Jood Quran and Nuha Riyaz Ahmed each received scholarships worth $5,000.

This scholarship fund, initially organized and led by classmates Richard Sizer and John Schroeder, marked its 23rd year of raising funds and awarding scholarships for Dundalk High School students. They continue to meet fundraising goals and have been the largest donor at each awards ceremony.

This year marks 62 years since the DHS Class of ‘62 graduated and to date, through the scholarship fund a total of $211,500 has been awarded to 39 graduating seniors. As many alumni mark their 80th birthdays this year, the Class of ‘62 encourages community groups and other DHS Classes to make the same sort of effort to support the community that nurtured them.
