Local law enforcement and emergency services responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 3000 block of 30th Street W. in Webster Township at 20:08 hours on June 1, 2024.

The crash claimed the life of a 30-year-old Nathan John Thomas, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 33-year-old female driver sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. Additionally, two male children, aged 21 months and 2 months, were extricated from the vehicle and also transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for urgent medical care.

"Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones affected by this tragic incident," the Rice County Sheriff's Office stated in a release.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Office. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
