Executive Director Jenny Schlueter explains why help is needed, either by fostering or adopting animals, and/or to give money. Insurance isn’t going to cover all this. All the animals survived, though Jenny tells the story that if it wasn’t for one sanitation worker, there may have been deaths. Illinois man learns sentence after he 'executed' his wife in front of family members
KANE COUNTY, Ill. - An Illinois man was sentenced to natural life in prison this week for murdering his wife in front of family members in 2022. Timothy Gordon, 48, of Montgomery, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the first-degree murder of his wife. Because Gordon used a firearm to carry out the murder, he faced an additional sentence of anywhere between 25 years to natural life in prison without parole.
Suburban Chicago Man Receives 27-Year Sentence for 2012 Downtown Bomb Plot
A suburban Chicago man has been handed a 27-year sentence for his 2012 attempt to detonate an explosive in downtown Chicago. Adel Daoud, a 30-year-old resident of Hillside, Illinois, believed he was igniting a 1,000-pound car bomb at a bar in Chicago's Loop neighborhood, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois. Instead, Daoud fell into an FBI sting operation, the device in question being harmless, constructed by the Bureau during an undercover investigation into his activities—activities which included espousing violent jihad and seeking out ways to collaborate with active terrorists.

The indictment alleges Judy Strzelecki, from Downers Grove, Illinois, partook in a fraudulent billing scheme focused on private insurers, capitalizing on services purportedly offered to cancer survivors and women with chronic conditions. Citing a piece from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois, Strzelecki allegedly submitted false insurance claims for items including breast prostheses and compression garments through A Woman's Place LLC, where she served as office manager.
