A man who fatally shot a Chicago man in an Arlington Heights apartment Sunday won’t face charges, police said Monday. Arlington Heights police said the deceased — identified Monday as 33-year-old Jimmie Jackson Franklin of Chicago — unlawfully entered the Arbor Lakes Apartments residence near Bloomington Avenue and Lake-Cook Road, where a woman who obtained an order of protection against him lives.

HAWTHORN WOODS, Ill. - Aqua Illinois has issued a 24-hour boil order for residents in Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, and parts of Lake County following a water main repair. Gas spilled leaking fuel into sewer system in Hebron
Following a Monday morning gas spill at the Fast Stop gas station in Hebron, fuel has leaked into the sewer system, Hebron police Chief Juanita Gumble said. Gumble said the police department was called to the scene around 7:45 or 8 a.m. Monday, and she was told about 100 gallons spilled. She said there were about 600 parts per million of gasoline in the water when it was tested at the treatment plant.
Convicted felon faces multiple charges after attempting to flee Elmhurst police: prosecutors
A motion was granted Sunday to detain pre-trial an Addison convicted felon accused of possessing a semi-automatic handgun, prosecutors said. Antwaion Edwards, 27, of the 200 block of Hale Street, appeared in DuPage County First Appearance Court charged with one count each of armed habitual criminal, unlawful use/possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and multiple misdemeanor and petty offenses including resisting a police officer, DUI and transportation of open alcohol by a driver, according to a DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office news release.
