Oscar Mayer Wienermobile crashes on Illinois tollway, police say
CHICAGO — The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile was involved in a rollover accident on the Tri-State Tollway near west suburban Oak Brook on Monday, state police said. The famed hot dog-shaped vehicle was traveling north near Roosevelt Road around 11:10 a.m. when it hit a Hyundai Sedan that was also traveling north, Illinois State Police said. The vehicle lost control and overcorrected after hitting the second vehicle and rolled over onto its side, according to ISP.

39-year-old man killed in garage fire at Buffalo Grove home
The man who died in a house Monday morning in Buffalo Grove has yet to be identified, but the Lake County Coroner’s office believes he lived in the northwest suburban home. According to a village of Buffalo Grove news release, firefighters responded around 10:20 a.m. to the 600 block of Woodhollow Lane on a report of a fire in the garage that was attached to the house. Upon arrival on the scene, the emergency responders saw heavy flames in the garage were spreading to the two-story home.

Fire damages Village Inn restaurant in Palatine
Fire broke out Monday afternoon at the Village Inn restaurant in Palatine, leaving behind moderate damage but no injuries, officials said. According to the Palatine Fire Department, firefighters responded at 2:51 p.m. to a report of smoke in the building at 270 E. Northwest Highway in Palatine.
