(SPRINGFIELD) Governor J.B. Pritzker signed 68 more bills into law this past Friday. One of the four measures that take effect January 1st, 2025, is House Bill 5457 prevents professional license denial or disciplinary action against someone based solely on immigration status or an immigration violation. House Bill 5465 allows human trafficking victims, who were children at the time of the crime, to have their juvenile records expunged or sealed of any criminal acts they were forced to take part in while being abused. House Bill 5370 expands the state’s “Move Over Law” requiring drivers to reduce their speed in & around emergency crash scenes. House Bill 5238 requires newly built manufactured homes to have weather radios installed, plus also promotes regular maintenance of safety devices in mobile home communities. Storm reports: Nine confirmed tornadoes from July 15 derecho
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Severe storms blasted through central Illinois on July 15, bringing widespread damaging wind, heavy rain and tornadoes to the region. Observed thunderstorm winds reached over 100 mph in a few locations, both a result of straight-line winds and tornadoes. Outside of tornadoes, most areas experienced wind gusts 60 to 80 mph which resulted in numerous trees and power lines being damaged across the region.

Illinois Basketball: Tomislav Ivisic Arrives on Campus
Illinois basketball’s roster has now fully arrived on campus. Per his Instagram page, big man Tomislav Ivisic has officially arrived at the Illinois campus. After an extended wait with the entire process that is required for an overseas citizen to arrive at a college campus, Ivisic completes the Illini’s roster.
