DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The 35th annual Troop R Camp Cadet graduation was held Friday in Lackawanna County.

62 cadets graduated from Troop R. The event was held at the Performing Arts Center at Marywood University in Dunmore.

Camp Cadet is a summer camp for boys and girls from Pennsylvania between the ages of thirteen to fifteen. Troop R serves 4 counties in our area; Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Pike, and Wayne counties.

It was held on the campus for 6 days this week at Marywood University. It is staffed with Troopers, local police officers, and many other volunteers.

The goal of Camp Cadet is to introduce participants to the criminal justice system and establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel, build self esteem, and integrity.
