ELK MOUND, Wis. (WEAU) - Governor Tony Evers in the Chippewa Valley Wednesday highlighting new efforts to improve rural roads across Wisconsin. At Meyer Brothers Grain in Elk Mound, Evers and WisDOT discussing nearly $50 million that will go towards projects fixing roads that are used to transport crops, livestock, and more.
Elk Mound Company Hosts Governor Evers on Rural Road Funds
An Elk Mound company called Meyer Brothers Grain hosted Governor Tony Evers on Wednesday to discuss funding for rural road improvements. The Town of Elk Mound was chosen as one of the recipients of the funding, and will receive over $400,000 to improve a portion of 970th Street in Dunn County. Meyer Brothers Grain has a facility along the road, and officials have complained that it is too narrow to safely support the traffic of their trucks and buses of children from the nearby schools.

MENOMONIE — A Hudson man was arrested Thursday morning in Dunn County on suspicion of his sixth drunk-driving offense, less than four months after he was released from prison for his fifth drunk-driving conviction. A Hudson man was arrested for his sixth operating a motor vehicle under the influence by the Wisconsin State Patrol Thursday morning. The State Patrol reports a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for unsafe lane deviation at milepost 45 in Dunn County near Menomonie.
