A nearly $1 billion titanium plant bringing hundreds of high-paying jobs will be built in Cumberland County, the Fayetteville-Cumberland Economic Development Corporation announced Tuesday afternoon. American Titanium Metals, operating under the name Project Aero, has announced it will build its aerospace-grade titanium mill in Fayetteville, creating more than 300 jobs with an average salary of $123,476, the news release said. ...
Raleigh woman facing 22 felony charges in connection with insurance fraud scheme
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh woman was arrested last Wednesday in connection with an insurance fraud scheme that spanned over five years. Tonia Yvett Clare Jones, 55, is charged with 11 counts of insurance fraud, 10 counts of obtaining property by false pretense, and one county of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. All charges are felonies, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

Arts Council welcomes new Artist in Residence: Katie Crawford - Art, inspiration and the little things
The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County extends a warm welcome to its new Southeastern Artist in Residence, Katie Crawford. Crawford was selected via a competitive pool process that included applicants from Cumberland, Hoke, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland counties. Crawford’s residency is part of a year-long process funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts to build an arts education strategy for the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County.
