Former Indiana star Eric Gordon agrees to deal with 76ers, his 17th NBA season
Former IU basketball star and Indiana Mr. Basketball Eric Gordon's NBA career will extend to 17 seasons. According to multiple reports on Sunday, Gordon has agreed to a one-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2024-25 season. Gordon's deal is expected to be for the veteran's minimum, which is estimated to be around $3.3 million for players with 10+ years of service.

(Connersville, IN)--The family of Denise Pflum released a statement over the weekend after a Fayette County judge last week stopped their efforts to force the search of the property of Erika Johnson for Denise’s remains. The message indicates the Pflums will try another approach and urges the community to be patient until that happens. They are discouraging the efforts of some to organize a protest, saying that it will not sway the court’s position. They’re also asking that people not venture onto the Johnson property themselves in an effort to search. The Board of Works and Public Safety denied a request from a group of residents Tuesday morning to set off a large amount of fireworks at Clearwick Park on July 4. Citing the Shelbyville Parks Department’s rule of no fireworks in city parks, a block party request to light consumer fireworks in Clearwick Park, 2600 Berwick Drive, from residents of the Clearview subdivision was not allowed.

MUNCIE, Ind. — A woman faces a felony auto theft charge after a Muncie man found her inside his car and held her at gunpoint until police arrived. Chelsey N. Barton, a 34-year-old Muncie woman, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with one count of auto theft, a level 6 felony. Barton reportedly admitted to police she tried to break into a nearby home before stealing a car.
Souls Harbor Church gets rezone approved to move to new building
Souls Harbor Church cleared the final hurdle to move into a new building. The church, located at 105 N. Vine Street in Shelbyville, is purchasing the former Family Services and Prevention Programs building at 2021 S. Riley Highway.
