TEACHEY — Bryan Mecenpadilla joins the town of Teachey as their new Assistant Public Works Associate.

At the age of 16, Mecenpadilla joined as a volunteer firefighter with the Teachey Volunteer Fire Department, which began about four years ago. He was looking for long-term work which the Deputy Chief recommended him since he is already so involved in the community.

Mecenpadilla improves the grounds of the township. He looks at tasks around Teachey that need to be taken care of including mowing the park and maintaining the outdoor areas.

His goal is to “keep the place looking nice and mow it all the time, I’m sure people are appreciative of it,” said Mecenpadilla.

“I get stopped by people saying the grass looks nice.”

Mecenpadilla continues to spend his free time outside of his public works role when called, by serving the community as a firefighter. “I always liked helping people…what better way than a fire department that’s always there to help at people’s worst times.”

Outside of dedicating his time to the residents and town of Teachey, he enjoys going to the beach.

“My only hobby is sometimes going to the beach on the weekend.”

He shares that he includes firefighting as his true passion which he holds close to his heart.

Mayor Bobby Jones of Teachey is thrilled to have Mecenpadilla on the team.

“He seems very humble, full of integrity, hard worker, and just eager to learn,” said Jones.

“With Morgan and with Bryan, these last two hires — I think we’re really heading in the right direction in Teachey for our growth and I couldn’t be more pleased and our employees are extremely pleased with how things are going right now.”
