    Monday, July 15Pin Hook VFD, Duplin County EMS, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Angola Bay Road at Matthew Road for a MVC, unknown injuries. Pin Hook Rescue 17 and Engine 1 arrived and assisted EMS and controlled traffic. Pin Hook Car 1 requested Duplin County Water Department response to the scene in reference to a fire hydrant that has been broke off and is leaking water. Once released by NCSHP all Pin Hook units cleared the call.

    Magnolia VFD First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Duplin County EMS Medic 1 arrived and cancelled all Magnolia units, Magnolia units cleared the call.

    Wallace VFD, Teachey VFD, Duplin County EMS, and Wallace Police Department responded to N. Norwood Street in from of Advanced Auto Parts for a MVC, passenger vehicle versus a farm tractor. Teachey Car 1 arrived and advised emergency traffic for EMS, subject lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Teachey units cancelled per Teachey Car 1 as Wallace would be able to handle the call. Once released by WPD all Wallace units cleared the call.

    Wallace VFD responded to W. Cavenaugh Street for a residential fire alarm activation. Wallace Car 9 arrived on scene advising nothing showing out investigating. Wallace command advised malfunctioning smoke detector cancel all units. All Wallace units cleared the call.

    Teachey VFD responded to W. W. Whaley Lane for a grass fire. Teachey Engine 13 arrived and found a small grass fire in the yard of a residence, the fire was quickly extinguished and all Teachey units cleared the call.

    Warsaw VFD, Duplin County EMS, and Warsaw Police Department responded to N. Front Street for a MVC, two vehicles minor injuries. Warsaw Engine 3 arrived and assisted EMS and controlled traffic. Once released by NCSHP all Warsaw units cleared the call.

    Tuesday, July 16Warsaw VFD responded to Lanefield Road at Warsaw Elementary School for a commercial fire alarm activation. Warsaw Engine 3 arrived and found a false alarm activation, the alarm was reset and all Warsaw units cleared the call.

    Mount Olive VFD, Calypso VFD, Oak Wolfe VFD, and Duplin County EMS responded to Rones Chapel Road for a vehicle fire endangering a structure. During response Duplin County Communications advised the 911 caller called back and advised fire is out with a lot of smoke still coming from the vehicle. Mount Olive Engine 2 and Tanker arrived and canceled all automatic aid units and Duplin County EMS Medic 4. Mount Olive units checked for extension, extinguished hot spots and completed a cause and origin investigation. Once the investigation was complete all Mount Olive units cleared the call.

    Oak Wolfe VFD, First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Oak Wolfe MR 1 arrived and began patient care, once Duplin County EMS Medic 4 arrived patient care was transferred. Once the patient was loaded and transported all Oak Wolfe units cleared the call.

    Albertson VFD, Pleasant Grove VFD, Duplin County EMS, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to N. NC 111 Highway at Outlaws Bridge Road for a MVC with a vehicle overturned. Albertson Car 1, Engine 1, Engine 2, Squad 1 and Equipment 1, along with Pleasant Grove Car 1 and Rescue 18 arrived and Albertson Car 1 assumed command. Albertson command advised one vehicle on its side, and one vehicle in the roadway all patients out of the vehicle. Pleasant Grove Rescue 18 returned to service and cleared the call., Albertson units controlled traffic and assisted EMS. Once released by NCSHP all Albertson units cleared the call.

    Calypso VFD, First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Calypso BLS arrived and began patient care, once Duplin County EMS Medic 4 arrived patient care was transferred. Once the patient was loaded and transported all Calypso units cleared the call.

    Wednesday, July 17

    Wallace VFD, North East VFD, Duplin County EMS, Wallace Police Department, Duplin County Sheriff Office, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Interstate 40 between mile marker 387 and 388 eastbound for a MVC, tractor trailer overturned blocking both lanes of travel. Wallace Engine 5, Rescue 8, North East Equipment 1, and Engine 1 arrived and found an 18 wheeler flatbed loaded with lumber overturned on its left side. The truck and trailer are across both lanes with lumber scattered across all eastbound lanes, the median and breakdown lanes. Wallace Rescue 8 closed both eastbound lanes at the 385 exit (S. NC 41 Highway) while Wallace QR 7 closed the eastbound entrance ramp on S. NC 41 Highway at the 385 mile marker. WPD 201 (Wallace Police Chief) requested Kennedy’s Wrecker Service respond to assist with lumber cleanup and recovery of the tractor trailer. Once the investigation was completed and the accident scene cleaning up all Wallace and North East units cleared the call.

    Beulaville VFD, Lyman VFD, Chinquapin VFR, Duplin County EMS, and Duplin County Sheriff Office responded to Little Bubbles Lane for a residential structure fire, caller advised that the end of his trailer is smoking does not see flames. Beulaville Car 1 arrived and assumed command, after a brief investigation, no fire was found and all fire and EMS units were cancelled. All units cleared the call.

    Rose Hill VFD, Teachey VFD, Wallace VFD, Greenevers VFD, Duplin County EMS, and Rose Hill Police Department responded to the intersection of N. Bay Street and E. Blanchard Street for a residential structure fire. Within seconds after dispatch a firefighter arrived on scene advising heavy smoke showing, upgraded to a working fire. Rose Hill Engine 2 arrived and pulled an attack line and began fire suppression, next in Teachey Engine 13 caught the hydrant and laid a 5” supply line to RH Engine 2 for water supply. Duplin County EMS Medic 7 set up rehab, Teachey Engine 12, Wallace Engine 6, and Greenevers Engine 1 and Engine 2 all arrived and assisted with fire suppression, ventilation, salvage and overhaul. Duplin County Fire Marshal’s FM 1, FM 2, and FM 3 all arrived to assist with the cause and origin investigation. Greenevers and Wallace units were released and returned to their stations, once released by DCFM FM 2 all Teachey and Rose Hill units cleared the call.

    North East VFD responded to S. NC 41 Highway for a MVC, single vehicle in the ditch, debris in the roadway, no injuries. North East Equipment 1 and Engine 1 arrived and removed the debris from the roadway and stood by for NCSHP. Once released by NCSHP all North East units cleared the call.

    Beulaville VFD, Potters Hill VFD, Lyman VFD, and Duplin County EMS responded to Penny Road for a residential structure fire. Beulaville Car 1 arrived within a minute advising smoke showing, Beulaville Car 1 assuming command. Beulaville command advised working kitchen fire, first due Beulaville Engine 1 arrived and pulled two attack lines, Potters Hill Engine 1 and Tanker 1 arrived and hooked a supply line into Beulaville Engine 1. Lyman Engine 2 set up a water point at the intersection of N. NC 41 Highway at Penny Road for tanker refill. Crews made a quick knockdown of the fire and checking for extension in the attic, Lyman Rescue 15 closed the roadway at Penny Road at Old NC 24, Potters Hill Rescue 1 closed the roadway at N. NC 41 Highway at Penny Road. Crews completed salvage, overhaul, cause and origin investigation, once all hot spots were extinguished and investigated completed all units cleared the call.

    Faison VFR responded to W. NC 403 Highway at East Coast Migrant Head Start for a commercial fire alarm activation. Faison Engine 2 arrived to a commercial educational building nothing showing, out investigating. Faison command advised accidental activation, all Faison units cleared the call. and returned to their station.

    Warsaw VFD, Faison VFR, North Carolina Forestry Service, and Duplin County EMS responded to Revelle Road for a woods fire endangering a residential structure. During response all units were cancelled per the original caller, fire is out. All units cleared the call. and returned to their stations!

    Thursday, July 18

    Wallace VFD responded to N. Norwood Street at the Duplin Inn for a commercial fire alarm activation, smoke detector going off in room 10. Wallace Chief 1 arrived and advised the detector was set off from steam from the shower, all units cancelled. All Wallace units cleared the call.

    Albertson VFD responded to Seth Turner Road near Albertson Recreation for a possible electrical transformer fire. Albertson Car 2 arrived in the area and attempted to locate the transformer. Albertson units were unable to locate a blown of burning transformer, no power outage in the area. All Albertson units cleared the call.

    Friday, July 19

    Faison VFR First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Faison MR 5 arrived and assisted Duplin County EMS Medic 4 already on scene. Once the patient was loaded and transported all Faison units cleared the call.

    Kenansville VFD responded to Limestone Road at Kenansville Elementary School for a commercial fire alarm activation. During response of Kenansville Engine 2 they were advised that Kenansville Police Department 901 on scene advising accidental activation, Engine 2 continued on non-emergency traffic to confirm the false alarm. Kenansville Engine 2 arrived and confirmed false alarm, all Kenansville units cleared the call.

    Potters Hill VFD, Beulaville VFD, Pink Hill VFR, Sarecta VFD, and Duplin County EMS responded to Sumner Road for a commercial structure fire, agricultural building. Potters Hill Car 3 arrived and found a fire in the control room of poultry house 6, as Potters Hill Engine 1 arrived Car 3 advised he had a knockdown on the fire using a fire extinguisher. Command advised all units responded non-emergency. As other units arrived the fire completely extinguished, Sarecta and Pink Hill units were released and returned to their stations. Beulaville units assisted with smoke removal before being released, once repairs were made to the control panel, all Potters Hill units cleared the call.

    Beulaville VFD, Sarecta VFD, Duplin County EMS, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Lyman Road for a MVC single vehicle with entrapment, vehicle underwater. Beulaville Car 2 arrived and advised single vehicle mostly submerged, and requested a deputy to close the roadway at Lyman Road and Edwards Road intersection as well as a tow truck. Communications advised all deputies busy on calls, Lyman VFD was requested to close the roadway, Sarecta Rescue 20 and Brush closed Lyman Road at E. Main Street (E. NC 24 Highway). Beulaville Rescue 5 was positioned and the wench was used to pull the vehicle partially out of the water and access was made to the drivers door and a patient was found inside. The patient was extricated from the vehicle and turned over to EMS, the crew of Duplin County EMS Medic 5 did an assessment of the patient and pronounced the patient deceased. NCSHP arrived and put a rush on the tow truck so they get the vehicle out of the water to check for any other potential patients. Once the tow truck arrived and the vehicle was recovered, no other patients were found. Once released by NCSHP the roadway was reopened and all units cleared the call.

    Kenansville VFD, Duplin County EMS, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to E. NC 24 Highway at S. Kenansville Bypass for a MVC, two vehicles unknown injuries. Kenansville Car 1, Engine 1, Engine 2, and Squad 1 arrived and set up traffic control, assisted EMS, and controlled fluid leaks. Once released by NCSHP all Kenansville units cleared the call.

    Saturday, July 20

    Wallace VFD responded to Linda’s Funtime Junction on N. West Railroad Street for a commercial fire alarm activation. Wallace Car 8 and Engine 6 arrived and found nothing showing from the exterior, out investigating. It was found to be a false alarm activation, all Wallace units cleared the call.

    Warsaw VFD, Faison VFR, Duplin County EMS, and Warsaw Police Department responded to S. Center Street for a residential structure fire. Duplin County EMS Medic 1 arrived and found smoke and flames showing, the call was upgraded to a working fire. First due Warsaw Engine 3 arrived and pulled two attack lines and began fire extinguishment, as other units arrived, water supply was established with a 5” LDH supply line connected to a near by fire hydrant. Once the fire was brought under control, crews started salvage, overhaul, cause and origin investigation. Once the investigation was completed all units cleared the call.

    Warsaw VFD, Faison VFR, Duplin County EMS, and Warsaw Police Department responded to S. Center Street for a residential structure fire rekindle. Duplin County EMS Medic 1 arrived and found light smoke showing, Warsaw Engine 3, and Faison Engine 2 arrived and started extinguishment of the fire. Warsaw command requested to retone Warsaw and Faison for additional manpower. Additional manpower arrived as they continued to extinguish the fire, a request was made for Kenansville, Calypso, and Turkey VFD’s for manpower. Once all fire was extinguished all units cleared the call.

    Rose Hill VFD, Duplin County EMS, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to S. U.S. 117 Highway at Rosemary Road for a two vehicle MVC, vehicles in the roadway. Rose Hill Car 1 and Rescue 6 arrived and controlled traffic, once released by NCSHP all Rose Hill units cleared the call.

    Warsaw VFD, Duplin County EMS and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Carrolls Road for a farm tractor overturned with injuries. Warsaw Engine 3 and Squad 4 arrived snd assisted EMS and controlled traffic. Once released by NCSHP all Warsaw units cleared the call.

    Sunday, July 21

    Kenansville VFD responded to Beasley Street at Kenansville Health and Rehabilitation for a commercial fire alarm activation. Kenansville Engine 2 arrived and found a false activation, the alarm was reset and all Kenansville units cleared the call.

    Rose Hill VFD responded to S. NC 903 Highway for a residential fire alarm activation. Rose Hill Car 1 arrived and found a cooking incident set the smoke alarm off, all Rose Hill units cancelled.

    Rose Hill VFD responded to Yellow Cut Road at Valley Protein for a vehicle fire. Rose Hill Car 1 and Engine 2 arrived and mitigated the situation. All Rose Hill units cleared the call.

    Teachey VFD First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Teachey MR 16 arrived and started patient care, once Duplin County EMS Medic 2 arrived patient care was transferred. Once the patient was loaded and transported all Teachey units cleared the call.

    Beulaville VFD responded to Wilson Avenue at Beulaville Fire Department for a landing zone set up per Duplin County EMS 103 (Shift Captain). Beulaville personnel arrived at the station and secured the helicopter pad behind the station. EastCare Medical helicopter landed safely, Duplin County EMS Medic 5 transferred patient care to EastCare flight crew. EastCare Medical helicopter lifted off safely and transported to a trauma center. All Beulaville units cleared the call. Pin Hook VFD responded mutual aid to Pender County (Maple Hill VFD) to E. NC 53 Highway for a residential fire alarm activation. During response of Pin Hook Engine 2 all Pin Hook units were cancelled.

    Oak Wolfe VFD First Responders, responded to a medical call with Duplin County EMS. Oak Wolfe MR 1 arrived and started patient care, once Duplin County EMS Medic 4 arrived patient care was transferred. Once the patient was loaded and transported all Oak Wolfe units cleared the call.

    Faison VFR First Responders, responded to a call with Duplin County EMS. Both Faison MR 5 and Duplin County EMS Medic 4 staged for the arrival of law enforcement. Once law enforcement arrived all units cancelled, Faison units cleared the call.
