Choctaw Casino Patron Wins $1M In 3 Months, 3 Millionaires Promotion

At Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, a North Texas woman became the first gambler this year to win $1 million as part of the casino’s 3 Months, 3 Millionaires promotion.

Choctaw Casino & Resort is giving away $5.8 million this summer in the 3 Months, 3 Millionaires promotion

The 30-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, is one of three rewards club members who will win a million from three grand prize drawings this summer, the casino and resort said in a press release Sunday.

Choctaw Casino will give away a total of $5.8 million this summer, the release states.

“I couldn’t believe it,” the North Texas woman said. “I was just beaming that my name was called. And I was teasing my husband that they were going to call his name, and then they called mine. I still can’t believe it.”

She plans to use her winnings to travel and pay off her recently purchased house, according to the release. The two remaining million-dollar drawings will be held on July 27 and August 24 at 1 a.m. CT.

The winners must be present to claim the prize. Players started earning entries to the three drawings on May 26 at 12 a.m. CT.

“These are life-changing moments for our guests, and you could feel the excitement in the casino as we announced our first millionaire of the summer,” said Jeff Penz, the Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant senior director of Gaming & Hospitality.

All three winners in last year’s promotion ended up being from Texas

The 3 Months, 3 Millionaires promotion began last summer.

“You can’t overstate the impact of making someone a millionaire, and Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant was able to do that for three of our rewards club members last summer. It was an extraordinary experience, and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to offer our guests another chance at life-changing winnings!” Penz added.

“We are always looking to elevate the experiences we provide our guests and giving back to our incredibly loyal players is a key part of that commitment.”

Last summer, all three winners ended up being from Texas. The first winner, Brittany Juarez, is a Kaufman native and a small business owner whose life was changed when she won $1 million in June 2023.

Rosa Guia, a Lancaster native who worked at an embroidery graphics company, retired after winning $1 million in July 2023. She also used her winnings to help her family and take trips with her husband.

Choctaw Casino & Resort’s third and final winner was Stephanie S. from North Texas.
