Lady Cardinals headed to State Championship

East Wilkes Lady Cardinals are headed to play in the 1A NCHSAA State Championship in softball. The Lady Cards beat the Black Knights of Robbinsville 4-0 on Tuesday, May 21 as they hosted. The Cardinals then traveled the long road to Robbinsville on Friday, May 24 and won 9-6, claiming the Regional win in the best 2 out of 3 matchup.

The Cardinals will now face off with the Panthers of Northside-Pinetown on Friday, May 31 at Duke University in Durham. Game time is set for 5 p.m. In the best 2 out of 3 matchup, the second game will be played on Saturday, June 1 at 11am and if a third game is needed, it will be played on Saturday at 5pm.

The Cardinals are seeded above the Panthers and will be the home team in the opening game.
