9-year-old NC boy found safe after Amber Alert

Police in Durham say a 9-year-old boy who was reportedly abducted Thursday night has been found safe.

An Amber Alert was issued for Geon King-Parriett late Thursday. At about 1:45 p.m. Friday, the Durham Police Department reported that King-Parriett had been located.

His mother, Mariah King, was taken into police custody, DPD said.

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday night for an endangered 9-year-old boy from Durham.

Geon King-Parriett is approximately 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants.

Geon is believed to have been abducted by his 33-year-old mother, Mariah King.

She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair was in a bun with a ponytail.

She was wearing gray sweatpants and a black crop top.

They were last seen leaving 202 S Benjamine St. at about 6 p.m. on foot.
