DURYEA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A young girl is working hard to raise money for Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

This is Avery’s fifth year having a lemonade stand raising money for animal shelters in the area.

On top of just lemonade you can get hot dogs, tie dye shirts, baked goods, popcorn, chips, snacks, and new this year a raffle!

Avery and her neighbors all made different raffle baskets and will be raffling them off. She says her reason for doing this is simply because of her love for animals.

“Every year we’ve slowly made more and more money and donated it to the shelters, and its just a very good experience and I’m happy to be doing it,” said Avery Dietrich of Duryea.

“Come down, support her, support the shelters, support everything she does,” voiced Jennifer Katchmore, volunteer at the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

A griffin pond volunteer was also there with their loveable dog bowser who needs a forever home. She has already raised over $2,050.
