Blue-green algae warning issued for part of St. Johns River in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Dept. of Health in Duval County issued a health alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algae toxins in the St. Johns River Friday. A water sample was taken Monday in the St. Johns River and came back with dangerous levels of blue-green algae in and around the river near Mandarin Point, according to the health department.

New study shows Jacksonville 8 degrees hotter than most of the planet
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A brand new climate study shows that many sections of Jacksonville are hotter than the rest of the planet. This all comes from the group Climate Central which tracked what’s called the Urban Heat Index that shows densely populated urban areas are hotter than other spots on Earth.
