    2 Duxbury residents die in fiery crash on Vermont highway

    MIDDLESEX, Vermont − A man and a woman from Duxbury, Massachusetts, died in a fiery crash on a foggy highway in Vermont early Sunday morning, Vermont State Police said.

    They were identified as Sean Delaney , 19, and Elana Korey, 20.

    They were northbound on Interstate 89 in Middlesex at about 5:04 a.m. when the crash occurred, police said. Delaney was driving a 2006 Lexus ES330 and Korey was in the front passenger seat.

    "Upon the arrival of first responders, the vehicle was fully engulfed," police wrote. "The driver and front seat passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene."

    Police said speed is believed to have contributed to the crash and no other vehicles were involved.

    Middlesex is just north of Montpelier and about 30 miles southeast of Burlington.
