An update on Manhattan's road construction projects
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The City of Manhattan provided an update on multiple ongoing road construction projects to 13 News on Tuesday. Ken Hays, Manhattan City Engineering Project Coordinator, says construction on Kimball Avenue near Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be complete next week, just in time for Kansas State’s football opener on Aug. 31.

RCPD investigating after suspect stole over $1K worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart

Grand opening Friday morning for Five Below, coming soon for two other new Pavilions tenants
Another retail store at the Emporia Pavilions will open to shoppers this week. Five Below has its official grand opening ceremonies starting at 9:30 am Friday. Five Below is coming online ahead of Maurices, which is moving from Flinthills Mall by mid-September, and Old Navy, which has its main signage up — but Pavilions developer Spencer Thomson says it might not open until mid-October.
Hinkle, Placek Awarded Gautt Scholarships
Kansas State’s Loren Hinkle (volleyball) and Joe Placek (track and field) were among 28 student-athletes selected by the Big 12 Conference to receive the 2023-24 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarships. Hinkle, a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree, recently earned her degree in life sciences and was named to the Academic All-District First Team by the College Sports Communicators in 2022. Placek, a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, was also recognized on the CSC Academic All-District VII and Academic All-Big 12 teams.
