READI Accelerates New Housing, Rural Development in West Central Indiana
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation joined local and regional officials today in Staunton to cut the ribbon on a new development that will increase housing availability in West Central Indiana. The project, Clay Court development, is part of the Homes for the Future program – a pilot initiative to incentivize homebuilders and developers to build new, age-friendly homes that is being supported by Indiana’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI).

A man drowned in Lake Michigan near Loyola Beach in Rogers Park late Sunday night, Chicago police said.Police and the Chicago Fire Department responded to a person in distress at about 11:59 p.m. in the 1200-block of West Touhy Avenue.A witness told police that a 23-year-old man was last seen in the water and did not get out.A search was conducted and the man was pulled from the water and transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.Authorities have not released the victim's name.

Boy, 7, hospitalized after being shot in head on Dan Ryan Expressway
CHICAGO (CBS) — A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday morning.Illinois State Police say a vehicle was traveling down I-94 near 73rd Street around 2:40 a.m. when someone in another car started shooting at them – striking the boy who was a passenger.The driver of the struck car exited the expressway and stopped near 22nd and Michigan to call for help. The boy was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.State police closed the expressway's northbound lanes just before 4 a.m. to investigate. All lanes reopened around 4:53 a.m.Investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. No further information was immediately available.
