DEWEY PARK PLAYGROUND CLOSING ON JULY 29
Dewey Park was Johnston’s first park and it has a playground that dates back to 1992. Over time, the playground equipment has started to wear out due to frequent usage and weather conditions that have degraded plastics and metal. The life expectancy of most of the playground equipment is 25 years, and after nearly 32 years of use, the large playground structure will be replaced with a new and exciting tree-themed adventure playground. On Monday, July 29, the larger playground will be closed to start the removal of the sidewalk and the structure. The rest of the park will remain open for visitors.
