Governor Kathy Hochul has stepped up law enforcement in New York with a $66 million budget for the New York State Police recruitment campaign. This investment will help expand trooper ranks and improve public safety efforts across the state.

The injection of funds into the State Police academy hints at a targeted approach to tackling serious crime issues, particularly the trafficking of illegal firearms. By bolstering recruitment and training programs, Governor Hochul hopes to provide the State Police with the resources to meet future security challenges and protect communities.

Seekers of a career as a New York State Trooper can learn more about qualifications and programs at the State Police site. The recruitment effort also aims to promote diversity in law enforcement and better community relations through increased representation.

Particularly, the Governor has promised to raise the numbers of women, Black and Hispanic Troopers in the State Police ranks in order to better reflect the demographics of the areas they serve. By taking part in national pledges such as the 30x30 campaign, State Police hopes to create a more diverse and representative law enforcement force by 2030.

The expansion of the State Police force provides significant opportunities for professional growth and development, with specialized units including Aviation, Canine, Underwater Recovery Team, Special Operations Response Team and Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

When you stop "catch and release" becomes a thing of the past. Police Officers are tired of arresting 57 time felons who are immediately released. Want to Recruit Capable Candidates? MAKE CRIME ILLEGAL AGAIN. BUILD MORE PRISONS AND FILL THEM.
