Advocacy Group Wants Proof Happy Is Well-Being During Extended Absence

In a strange turn of events, Bronx Zoo's beloved elephant Happy has been missing for three days, raising alarm among animal advocates. The Nonhuman Rights Project has called on the Wildlife Conservation Society to produce detailed veterinary records, keeper logs and recent photos and videos of Happy to prove her current condition.

Happy, one of the two elephants in the Bronx Zoo, hasn't been seen inside her enclosure since mid-July, numerous questions remain unanswered. The advocacy group known for its work on animal welfare has long pushed for Happy's relocation to an elephant sanctuary, citing concerns for her safety.
