    Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • - 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • - 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • - 1 1/8 teaspoons kosher salt
    • - 5/16 cup sugar
    • - 3/4 cup raisins
    • - 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (frozen and grated on large holes of box grater)
    • - 1 cup buttermilk
    • - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • - 2 cups powdered sugar
    • - 3 tablespoons milk

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the dough: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and sugar. Add the grated frozen butter to the flour mixture, tossing to coat the butter pieces in flour.

    2. Add the wet ingredients: Pour the buttermilk into the dry ingredients and stir just until the dough begins to come together. Add the raisins and gently fold them into the dough. Be careful not to overmix.

    3. Shape the biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough out into a rectangle about 1/2-inch thick. Fold the dough over onto itself and pat it out again. Repeat this folding process two more times. Finally, pat the dough out to about 1-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    4. Bake the biscuits: Brush the tops of the biscuits with the melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet.

    5. Make the glaze: While the biscuits are cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

    6. Glaze and serve: Once the biscuits have cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top of each biscuit. Serve warm and enjoy.

Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits are a delightful and comforting treat that’s perfect for any occasion. The combination of tender, flaky biscuits with sweet raisins and a cinnamon-spiced glaze makes for a truly irresistible snack. Whether you’re making these for a special occasion or just as a quick treat, these biscuits are sure to impress.
