ECO Transit is in route to become one with the Eagle Valley Transportation Authority
ECO Transit(ion) Since the Eagle Valley Transportation Authority was created with a ballot measure that passed in Vail, Minturn, Red Cliff, Avon, Beaver Creek, Eagle and unincorporated Eagle County in November 2022, the plan has been to take over from Eagle County as the home organization of ECO Transit. Alaska Airlines adding 2 nonstop flights to popular Colorado mountain town
Skiers and riders from two U.S. west coast cities will have nonstop flight availabilities starting in December to fly into Eagle County, Colorado. Could Eagle County garbage become jet fuel for the airport?
Jet fuel gets into Eagle County the same way gasoline does: by truck. Wayne McFarland thinks his company can shorten that trip for some of that fuel. McFarland is the CEO of SynTech Holdings, a company that can turn municipal waste into aviation fuel and other products. McFarland held a work session Tuesday with the Eagle County Board of Commissioners to talk about putting a small plant at the Eagle County landfill to produce aviation fuel, and then trucking that fuel to the Eagle County Regional Airport.
Alaska Airlines will be flying into the Eagle County Regional Airport next winter
The Eagle County Regional Airport will have a new carrier for the coming winter. Alaska Airlines announced Tuesday that from Dec. 20 through March 16 it will fly three times a week into Eagle County from San Diego and Seattle. The airline will use Embraer 175 aircraft for the flights. Those are 76-passenger “regional” jets.
