I think it’s easy to articulate what homeownership means to a person and how it changes a family’s trajectory. There’s clear evidence that living in a safe, affordable home creates concentric circles of positive outcomes: financial security, education, physical and behavioral health. What is becoming more evident...

Letter: Legacy, vision, common sense and the West End project
I arrived here 20 years ago and have seen Eagle County make decisions without a vision of their long-term impact. Our once idyllic valley increasingly resembles the chaotic, cluttered mess of many East Coast towns, or worse, Summit County. Past decision-makers approved projects without considering their cumulative effect on our county’s traffic, wildlife, environment, and overall character.
Eagle County Real Estate Market Report: Spring into summer uptick
The valley has sprung to life with summer activities and events happening in earnest. Strong activity has also been seen in Eagle County’s real estate market with more new inventory becoming available daily and showing activity increasing. We expect this to continue and see even more properties coming to market over the next few months.

With artificial intelligence tools making their way into classrooms, the Eagle County School District formed an AI Think Tank this year to better understand the benefits and pitfalls of the technology. Led by the district’s ed-tech team, the Think Tank originally set out to create recommendations for AI-related policies and...

The future looks bright for Eagle County soccer. Maybe as bright as it’s ever been. The Vail Valley Soccer Club’s U16 boys placed second at the Far West Regional Presidents Cup in Salt Lake City earlier this month to punch their tickets to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Wichita, Kansas on July 12-16.

Jeff Hurd, a Grand Junction attorney, has come out on top in the Republican primary to represent Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. Hurd will face Democrat Adam Frisch in the November general election. Frisch congratulated Hurd in a press release, saying, “My hat always goes off to anyone who is willing to stand up to represent their country and community,” adding, “The last thing our district needs is another corporate lawyer funded by corporate PAC money.” Lauren Boebert, our district’s current representative, ran instead for the 4th Congressional District and won that primary. In Eagle County news, it appears that Tom Boyd has won the District 2 commissioner seat over Sarah Hymes by a narrow margin.
Tom Boyd is the likely winner of primary election for open Eagle County commissioner seat
Edwards resident Tom Boyd looks like Eagle County’s newest commissioner based on the results of Tuesday’s Democratic primary election for the open District 2 seat. As of 10: 15 p.m., Boyd leads former Avon Mayor Sarah Smith Hymes by 152 votes — 2,616 to 2,464. Preliminary results remain unofficial, but the 10:15 p.m. release was the final one from the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder’s office on Tuesday. Boyd opened up an early lead of fewer than 100 votes in the first release at 7 p.m. and continued to add to his lead throughout the night.
