MARINETTE — Smiles were wide last Tuesday at The Stephenson National Bank & Trust (SNBT) as members of the B.J. Stupak Memorial Fund gathered to make a $25,000 donation to The Walton Blesch Stadium Legacy Foundation. Owners can take steps to prevent vehicle thefts
LANSING, Mich. — In 2023, over 1 million vehicle thefts were reported nationally, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Two young sailing victims identified; father still missing
OCONTO — The Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday conducted autopsies on the two deceased victims that were recovered on Monday south of Chambers Island in the waters of Green Bay, in the town of Gibraltar. The victims have been positively identified as 5-year-old Charlotte M. Salnik and 3-year-old Joshua F. Salnik. Search efforts continue in an attempt to locate their father, Billy J. Salnik, 32, who remains missing. Door County Sheriff’s Office will continue conducting drone searches and will start with K9 assisted marine searches. All search operations will continue with no plans to suspend until further notice, according to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office. This incident is still under investigation. The father and his children went missing Saturday while sailing on the bay of Green Bay.

Bodies of two children recovered near Chambers Island
OCONTO — The bodies of two young children were located Monday morning near Chambers Island, according to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office. The office was notified by the Door County Sheriff’s Office that an unmanned 18-foot Gulf Coast Sailboat was located in the waters off of Chambers Island at about 6:30 a.m. Monday. MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Fair will take place Thursday through Sunday at the fairgrounds at Shakey Lakes Park, west of Stephenson.
