LRCC hosts annual BIG Cup tournament

MARINETTE — Little River Country Club hosted its annual BIG Cup two-person scramble tournament on Sunday.

Garrett Waloway and Denin Bieberitz edged Chuck Heath and Steve Schrock by two strokes to capture the $200 cash prize in the championship flight.

Waloway and Bieberitz finished the front-nine one stroke behind Heath and Schrock at 31, but the duo ended the back-nine three strokes under par to finish with a combined score of 61.

Meanwhile, Heath and Schrock were five under par at 30 on the front-nine but shot 33 on the back end to finish with a 63.

Steve and Kyle Cheney took home third place six under par at 64.

The first flight featured a three-way tie for first place between the pairings of Bryan Knapp and Loren Rose, Jon Mans and Charlie Miller, and Ken Gressel and Oscar Burnett after all three teams finished four under par at 66.

Nick Daye and Keaton Ucke emerged victorious in the second flight by one stroke after shooting one under par at 69.

Brian and Amy Bretl and Bill Kopish and John Davis finished tied for second place at 70.

Jim Murphy and Rodney Huss tied with Curt Mayou and Tom Miller atop the third flight leaderboard at 76, While Sharon and Dave Lepp placed third overall with a 77.
