Marinette's Sommerfeldt collects First Team All-NEC honors
MARINETTE — Marinette’s Sam Sommerfeldt collected All-North Eastern Conference First Team honors, as the NEC released its All-Conference selections on Thursday. Sommerfeldt, a senior, was Marinette’s leading scorer at 16 points per game, sixth-best in the NEC, and averaged 4.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.8 turnovers per game. Sommerfeldt was the lone Marine to garner All-Conference recognition by the coaches of the NEC. ...
Two listening sessions planned for Friday
Two listening sessions featuring area politicians will take place Friday. State Sen. Mary Felzkowski, R-Irma, and State Rep. Jeff Mursau, R-Crivitz, will be at the Wausaukee Municipal Center, 704 Main St., Wausaukee, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Felzkowski will then join State Sen. Eric Wimberger, R-De Pere, at the Peshtigo Town Hall, W2435 Old Peshtigo Road, Marinette, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Coleman wrestlers finish runner-up at Division 3 State finals
MADISON, Wis. — For the third time in four years, the Coleman High School Wrestling team finished as the WIAA Division 3 runner-up. The Cougars defeated Weyauwega-Fremont 36-30 to reach the State Championship mat where they were defeated by top-seeded Fennimore. Coleman and Fennimore have tightened their hold as wrestling powerhouses in the State of Wisconsin. ...
