Portland Trails seeks $100,000 to restore storm-damaged trails and improve resilience
PORTLAND (WGME) - Portland Trails needs your help repairing their trail system. More than half of their trails were severely damaged in recent winter storms. The nonprofit hopes to raise 100-thousand dollars this summer to cover the costs of fixing broken bridges, repairing erosion damage and clearing fallen trees and brush.
Oppose Mitchell Field boat launch
I oppose this idea of a large boat launch, with all that goes with it, at Mitchell Field. The recent disclosure that this could cost the town and its taxpayers more than $1.9 million seals it for me — not that I thought this was a good idea in the first place. The fact that there will need to be a large parking lot for the large trucks and trailers and a huge, paved turnaround will change the entire character of the area.

New memory center in Presque Isle provides testing and caregiver support to community
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Aroostook Agency on Aging’s new memory center is the first outpatient memory care facility in Aroostook County. The Memory Center had a soft opening in May and has assisted more than 40 individuals so far.
