Sanford Police Seek Public's Help to Apprehend Fugitive Accused of Felony Murder and Additional Violent Crimes
The Sanford Police Department issued a public call for assistance on Friday in the effort to locate and apprehend Carlos Jerome Smith Jr. Through its "#FindEmFriday" campaign on social media, the Sanford Police Department released information regarding Smith, who is currently wanted on multiple charges, including first-degree felony murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Catawba Seniors Morning Out For August
HICKORY, N.C. –Participants will enjoy a variety of activities in August including a trip to the farmers market, crafting classes, and cooking demonstrations. Any resident of Catawba County who is 60 or older is invited to join Seniors Morning Out, which is held Monday through Thursday mornings at five convenient locations. A hot, balanced lunch is served each day. Programs are free to participants, who may pick and choose which days to attend. Bus transportation to and from the sites is available in some locations.
